Summer clouds today, over night low 54 degrees! I wish we had over night lows like this in June when we are trying to get our tomatoes to grow! Last evening we sat outside until 10 pm , in T-shirts, while visiting guests at the Sundew cabin. We continue to get record warmth day after day, and the forest is getting drier by the day! Hopefully we will have a wet April to refill our lakes and wells.
Robins are back as well as the Redwing Blackbirds. Haven’t seen any waterfowl yet, but we should have some new arrivals this week as the rivers start to open. People are still traveling on the ice, there still is about 2 feet of ice on the big lakes, but it is getting hard to get on the ice as it has started to melt away from the shoreline.
Our last guest left Triangle lake on Friday, so that does it until the lakes are ice free. During April and May we will continue to work on firewood, remodeling and do our Spring cleaning. We hope to have a 12 volt solar system in the Triangle Cabin by the end of May. The solar panels will provide electricity for new LED lighting in the cabin.
